18/2/2019 The last day of our visitors' trip was dedicated to our city's newer history. We started with a visit to the Historical and Folklore Museum of Acharnes. It is housed in the building of the old Town Hall in the central square. It has about 25,000 exhibits covering the last two centuries of local history. There are heirlooms donated to the museum by our fellow citizens and reflect the lives, occupations and character of the inhabitants of Acharnes. Everyday and formal dresses, jewelery, tools, everyday utensils, weapons, sacred objects, handicrafts are some of the exhibits. The museum manager guided the students to his premises and explained them important moments from the history of Acharnes.
