The euskaraldia is a social experiment in which the people who speak or understand Basque participate. It is done in all the Basque Country and it takes 11 days.
The first time it was done, it was in the 23th of November 2018 and it finished the 3th of December 2018 (the international day of the Basque language). And they are preparing to do it again in 2020.
Aims:
To increase the use of the Basque language in people and to make the use of it a habit.📷
Participation:
Basque Country: 225.154 people
Gipuzkoa:96.522 people
Bizkaia:80..036 people
Nafarroa: 22.234 ppeople
Araba:20.279 people
Lapurdi:4.387 people
Nafarroa Behera:1.351 people
Zuberoa:245 people
There are two roles: ``Aho bizi´´ and ``Belarri prest´´.
``Aho bizi´´ consits of speaking during those 11 days in Basque. And ``belarri prest´´ is about being ready to listen to people that speak in Basque although you can’t speak in Basque.📷
The people participating had a badge in which their role is indicated. Thanks to that, the people knew if the people around understand or speak Basque.
