This year is the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. On September 1, at dawn 1939, Germany attacked our homeland. That day, no Polish child went to school. This was the case for the next five years of war and occupation. The community of our school, including students and teachers from the Erasmus + program, wanting to celebrate this anniversary, joined the nationwide project # Interrupted March.
People who were several years old 80 years ago were invited to the solemn start of the new school year. The outbreak of war prevented them from going to school. Our invitation was accepted by Mrs. Barbara Bartkiewicz, retired teacher, Mrs. Maria Jabłonowska, Mrs. Weronika Sosnowska and Mrs. Irena Miecznikowska, who told about their experiences of the tragic September 1939.
On this day, students and teachers also laid candles at memorial sites associated with the heroes of World War II.
